A varied and challenging opportunity for a
PR & Customer Service Representative.
Start date: September 2010
Duration of contract: Until 31st Aug 2011. A more permanent role may be created for the right applicant.
Hours: variable/flexible throughout the year. Hours need to be adapted according to school holidays, events and the time of the year, Some weekend, usually Sundays, and evening work will be required. Working up to 4 or 5 days (35 to 40 hours) a week during the summer and school holidays, down to 1 to 3 days a week (6 to 18 hours) out of season
The role is split across two areas of responsibility,
FIRSTLY, the PR role: One to three days a week we are looking for someone to be the public face of the Model Village visiting Holiday Parks and Hotels, ensuring that they are well stocked with our promotional material and that the Model Village is portrayed to its full potential and kept at the forefront of the minds of reception staff. Also liaising with coach drivers and tour companies to encourage more coach/group visits to the model village.
The successful applicant will be required to build up and write PR plan, keeping a detailed record of all visits made and feedback from the establishments.
SECONDLY, to work some hours on site in customer service roles, which will include service in the gift shop, café, admission desk and 4D theatre show presenter.
The customer service role does help to build up awareness of the Model Village, and does increase the hours available. However, we are willing to accept applicants just wishing to carry out the PR role.
Essential requirements for applicants
Dynamic, friendly, out-going with excellent people skills.
An ability to work alone and use initiative whilst out on the road.
A full clean driving license.
At least 2 years experience working in a customer service and/or PR environment.
Must be available at least 3 full days a week, and including Sundays during school holidays.
Ideal requirements
A good knowledge of the English Riviera and South Devon generally.
PR / Customer Service / Tourism based experience.
An ideal position for someone looking for flexible part time or semi full time hours.
Additional Information
For the right applicant, who demonstrates outstanding PR skills which helps us to increase visitors to the model village, this position could develop into a full-time role
Rates: PR work £6.75 per hour, Customer Service £6.10 per hour (for over 21yrs).
